I see a relationship between Lightwave and Vegas Pro. Both are really great programs for what they do, but seem to have a 2nd and/or 3rd position with regard to their competitors. I am not sure why that is, but I use and love both programs. In the case of Vegas Pro, fortunately Magix saved it from a most certain death over at Sony and for that, I'm extremely appreciative of them. New Tek is keeping Light Wave alive for now, but what the future holds is still uncertain. It is promising that New Tek just came out with an updated version of LW, so I'm glad to see that.
From my perspective and for what I live to do, Vegas and Lightwave are the only programs I need. And so I am hoping the companies behind them keep them going.
