ligos playback codec needed for laptop

I create Vegas Video mpeg2 projects on my desktop with version 3.0a build 107 (the latest). I'm giving a presentation on my laptop using Corel Presentations 8 and it will not play the clips. Presentations 8 will play them on my desktop but not my laptop. The laptop is quite capable of playing mpeg2 and DVD files and works fine.

How do I get the Ligos playback codec on my laptop since I guess that is my problem?

have you tried installing VV2 on the laptop? or VV3?

You can download free MPEG-2 directshow decoders (for media player etc) at VCDhelp.com

I need to clarify my problem. I tried the mpeg2 installer to no avail. (It claimed would open files in almost any program.)

To clarify -I can play the files I creat on the desktop and laptop. But, I can't play the files within Corel Presentations 8 on my laptop. They do play within Corel Presentations 8 on my desktop.

It could be a DirctX issue since Corel's support says DirectX can only play one file at a time. But, since it works on my desktop, there must be a way to make them play on my laptop too within Corel Presentations 8.

Got any ideas?

Is installing Vegas Video 3 onto my laptop too permissable? (I intend to do editing on my desktop.)
