I have this project where I use several 4 to 5 minutes clips (about 30 clips).
Since I have pre-made the clips, they are ready to play one after the other (straight cuts), so I have been putting them in the same track (video/audio).
The only issue is that the audio needs to be normalized to get the same overall level for the project.
So I go on to 'Options - Preferences' select the 'Audio' Tab and input a value of -4.0dB for the 'Normalize peak level' option.
I click 'Ok' to close the Preferences box and I go back to the timeline.
From here I simply start to right-click on the audio waveform of each clip and select either:
'Properties' (audio event TAB) 'normalize' (and it gives me a certain number of dB on the Gain, depending on the clip).
or
Right Click on the audio part of the clips, 'Switches - normalize'
Everything is fine up to here, but after 10 or so clips, this function seems not to work anymore. I mean, after applying 'normalize' to a couple of clips, then I come to the point where if I apply normalize, nothing happens.
The 'Gain dB' value remains in 0.
Even if I move the clip to a new track I can get the normalize switch to normalize the audio of the clip.
I was forced to move some clips to a new track and manually change the volume for each track, but this is time consuming and I dont think is necessary to have that many video/audio tracks.
My systems is winXP Pro (eng), Athlon XP 1700, 700+MB ram, WD120Gigs (A/V drive), and the clips are captured from DV source (miniDV) and also using the analog inputs of my Pinnacle Studio Deluxe (DV clips also).
