thanks yirm
just another quick question
if i import the 3 mpeg-2 rendered files into a new project, render a single file as mpeg-2, will i re-compress the files again and loose quality? or i better merge the 3 projects and render from avi to mpeg-2?
thanks again

Yes, the MPEGs will re-compress. If it's too difficult to merge your three Vegas projects (or if you don't have enough disk space), you can render each project to DV, open the 3 finished AVIs into a new project and render to MPEG2.

thanks man
i have done this before. i open 2 projects put them on the dual display, ctrl+A on one project window and drag events from one project to the other, it works(i dont copy the files to working directory). but i dont know if the plugin and track setting will go with it or not.
i will give it a try tonite, cross my fingers ;)

i copy and paste, merge 3 projects together and render as one mpeg-2 file and it works with all the chapters.
one more question, i have imported a background pic in the menu, add a simple text and a 3 mins music. is there any way i can make the dvd media plays automatically after the menu music finish?
thanks again

Unfortunately, DVDA doesn't let you specify an end action with anything (which is what you need to go from the menu to the movie when your menu is "complete"). It's something a lot of people have been asking for - hopefully it will appear in a future version.

You know, you can also join MPEG files together in TMPG if they are the same bitrate etc. to create one new file and you can join ac3 files together using dos prompt.

To merge the MPG's I used TMPG's MPG tools to combine the two video streams to a new file.

For the Ac3's, using a DOS shell perform the following commands with your own file names...
copy /b fileA.ac3+fileB.ac3+fileC.ac3+fileD.ac3 newfile.ac3

The ac3 files must be the same bitrate etc.
