Link to Play entire movie : Linking MPEG?

Hi,
Want to buy Vegas + DVD, just not sure if there is a way to do the following with DVDA:

I want to have a DVD Menu, and have a link "Play Movie" that would jump to the first MPEG, then to the next, etc.
I see how to play 1 single movie with DVDA, but how do I link several MPEG together so that users can just click on one link and have it play 10 MPEG in a row?

Or do I have to create one GIANT MPEG with all of them, and link to that one...?

Thanks for any help! Shawn

does "jump" mean a continuous play...if so, i just completed a project that consisted of 15 separate movies...in vegas i did a little editing then grouped all of the movies together in the timeline, exported to dvda and it went perfect. in dvda i was able to both set a 'play whole movie' option and separate the individual scenes with chapter markers. hope this helps

You need one giant MPEG for the entire program. Then you can also set buttons to play a subset of the whole video. DVDA currently does not have end actions so separate MPEGS will not work.

You guys rock! thanks so much...thats exactly what I needed to know.

On an seperate note, for someone who has not purchased Vegas + DVD and is somewhat apprehensive about throwing down 300 bucks. Would you say this is the best dvd editing / dvd menu app on the market for this price?
I have a DVD-RAM Hitachi video camera, a DVD-RAM drive to grab VRO then convert to MPEG. Then a Pioneer A05 (new 4X) DVD-R burner.

All I need is the app!

Any advice? ie:
1. Best MPEG-2 settings to use (fps, quality, etc)
2. Should I use AVI instead? did not think so...but better quality it seems?
3. Does Vegas perform / render and edit as good as I hear?

Any info for a newbie, soon to be pro would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Shawn

At present there is a rather nasty bug in DVD ARCHITECT that causes videos to skip when rendered to DVD in certain projects. For more information, look for the threads on this board RE: Skipping. Because of this bug, I cannot recommend DVD ARCHITECT at this time. The program just isn't ready for prime time yet. There is supposed to be a fix in the works for this buy, but Sonic Foundry has not committed to a date for its release (at least not publically on this board anyway).

On the other hand, I highly recommend VEGAS VIDEO. As a stand alone product, it is easily the best Windows-based program for the money on the market today. For certain things, I prefer FINAL CUT PRO on the Macintosh, but it is also substantially more expensive (more than twice as much) and only incrementally superior. Its advantages certainly do not justify its high cost, in particular when compared to VEGAS. Besides, FINAL CUT is not an option if you use a Windows PC anyway.

VEGAS easily beats ADOBE PREMIERE in my opinion. I used PREMIERE for over 10 years, and it took a lot to make me even consider another program, but after of few days of using VEGAS, I never looked back. Some of the improvements in VEGAS 4.0 are quite useful-- in particular the new scripting and "copy attributes" features.
