Linking Audio and Video tracks VP10

For some reason my timeline video and audio tracks are no longer linked, ie if I split an event only the video track gets split...I am sure it is a simple command but I have spent over an hour going nowhere...could someone remind me please...thanks, Louis

There's a button above the timeline that looks like a padlock. You may have clicked this. With it active grouping is ignored, which means that audio and video become separate.
