Linking to External Standalone Program

Friends, I'm running Vegas Pro 18, primarily for audio, and frequently link and edit files back and forth between Vegas and Sound Forge Pro. Is it possible to set up the same workflow with other standalone programs? There are other standalone tools on the market that are not VST-compatible, which I would like to open and process audio with in the same way. Many thanks, --Carl

Hi @Carl-Weingarten. not in terms of multiple tracks or the timeline. Otherwise another audio program can be used as the 'Preferred audio editor' in "Options> Preferences> Audio"

If you have 32 bit plug-ins that will not run in 64 bit Vegas or Sound Forge, I use a 32 bit version of Sound Forge in that scenario. All the Magix versions (aside from SF-18) include an x86 version. x86 SF can not run 64 bit plugs though.
FYI, both the 32 and 64 bit versions of SF (same #) can be installed and activated on the same PC without issue. They share many of the custom settings and do not count as a second activation
