Loading the program is taking toooo long

Just got my Vegas Movie Studio and am trying to install it but the screen "loading UI" has been very very slowing moving and seems to be stuck at about 50% for over an hour now.

My computer meets the specs and is just a few months old. PC running XP2. 2GB ram, etc. etc.

any ideas?

Make sure .NET is properly installed. You might also have malware in your PC that can create problems with some apps.

Let me clarify. The program is installed. when clicking on the desktop icon everything appears to load fine until it reaches the "Initializing UI" stage, then it just hangs.

It is Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8.0 version 8.0a (build 95).
