Location of Vegas Settings Files

I want to backup the settings I've created in Vegas in case I want to recover from a system failure. I mean the various settings in the Effects, Track Motion, Pan/Crop etc.

Anyone know where Vegas hides these settings files? I've tried doing searches to see if I can find them, but no luck.

Appreciate any help, Maurice

Vegas stores the most of its settings in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Creative Software\Vegas Pro\10.0) + various files on your HDD (C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Sony folder - for Vista/Seven)

You can back up this registry key and folder. Also you might want to take a look at http://vegasaur.com/vegas-presets-manager

Hi,

Thanks for your reply re backing up Vegas Settings. I had a look at the Vegasaur link. This package appears to have a lot of overlap with Production Assistant which I've already got. How does it compare with Production Assistant?

I couldn't see any offers for upgrade of the Vegasaur package, do you always have to pay the full price for upgrades?

Cheers, Maurice

I don't have Vegasaur, but according to their "purchase" web page:
Registration Benefits

* All trial limitations removed
* Free minor version and bug fix releases <-----
* Discounts on future major version upgrades <----
* Unlimited online support via email or web form

Hi Mickey,

Thanks for that, hadn't noticed the bit about discounts on major version upgrades.
