lock markers? is this possible?

Is there a way to lock the markers to the timeline or too a section of video?
I find it annoying that I can lock the sections of footage but not the markers them selves.

If I have multi tracks, some that are single layer camera and other spots that are two synced tracks.
I want to be able to lock the sections (no problem) and lock the markers with those sections. so if I use auto ripple (3rd choice) the markers don't all end up shifting along the timeline.
I read some other thread that wasn't quite helpfull, just wondering if anyone else had a thought on this.

There are ripple options that will move only the affected track and leave the markers alone. I usually do manual ripples.

I think there's a script that can move markers from a timeline to individual media clips. That'd make them harder to move, but also harder to see. They'd move as the events move.

If you open the clip in the Trimmer and insert a Marker or a Region, and then click the Save Markers/Regions icon (the little disk icon in the Trimmer button section), then they will be secured in place. If you add them to the timeline then, they won't move. You can move the cliips from track to track, or even use them in another project--and the markers/regions are still secure.

If at some point you'd like to promote them from event-only to project-wide markers/regions, then you can use Tools > Scripting > Promote Media Markers.

Give it a shot...it works pretty well.

Thanks for the help.
I do use the different options from the auto ripple, I just thought there might be an option to lock them simply as locking an event to the track.
I guess the easiest way is as I am doing already.
Thanks again, I'll have to look into the trimmer option.

Short answer: No.

This has come up before.

Another almost on this, if you have a nested veg file on the timeline and the nested veg has markers, you can see the markers of the nested veg and it does acy like if you had a marker locked to a video event.

if you do that though, can you move them around after if you wanted to?
I just want to temporarily lock them, just to be sure they don't shift.
Unfortunately I think the best solution is the switching of the auto ripple.
