Locking a Track???????????????

I also use Pinnicale Studio 9 (for exsisting projects) and I really never want to use it again but......... it has only one thing on Sony.... you can lock a track easily, and if you delete or cut a section of the media it will only cut or delete the section that is not locked. The locked track is completely preserved.

Can this be done in Vagas Movie Studio??? I have searched and come to the conclusion that the answer is No but I just want to be sure.

Unless you have ripple deletes selected, you can cut any clip on the timeline without affecting the rest.

In my experience, Pinnacle's locking track was an interesting feature -- but it contributed to more problems for me (like out of sync problems) than it was worth.

There's a lock feature in Vegas.

to lock your media file - right click - switches - lock.

the easiest way to lock a series of events on the track will be to select the first event, then right-click - select -events to end, then right click - select - switches - lock.
