Click on one of them, then Ctrl-click on the other so that both are selected. Type G to group them.

Thats fine but when I select "select event to end" and move everything, the audio doesn't go with it. Is there a way to make it permanent?

Did you hit the "Ingore Event Grouping" Button in the menu bar?

Where is that option and what will it do?

It's on the main tool bar (the one that runs along underneath the menus - to the right of the save, copy, paste etc. buttons).

To find it, just let your mouse hover over each button until you get the popup saying 'ignore event grouping'.

The button looks like two strips of film seperated by a padlock.

Another useful keyboard shortcut is 'shift+G' which selcects all the events in a group.

Couple hints from a newbie. Save your veg file often, after you successfully create some changes. Undo works great, but being able to close then reopen the veg sometimes helps save me best. I have also learned the hard way to keep careful track of the order I do things. I had several instances where I had locked a audio portion and forgot it. Then when I moved a large selection, that audio stayed where it was and I had to search for where it belonged with the large selection I moved. Takes practice and the hints these users provide always pop up with ideas I did not try or know about. So many options in VV. Happy reading.

A kind of related question: Awhile back it was posted, but how do you lock timeline marks so they move when the event is shifted on the timeline?

thanks in advance...
