locking audio envelopes to timeline - ??

Can someone tell me how to do this? Do I need to set the lock before I put any envelopes in place? I wanted to add space at the beginning of my video and used the Insert > Time function, but my audio envelopes didn't budge. I went to the menu and locked them to the timeline but they still didn't move. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Does "Select All" followed by dragging to the right work for you?

Make sure that both "Ripple Edits" and "Lock Envelopes to Events" are checked in the "Options" menu. When inserting time, make sure that the event is NOT selected by clicking outside of the event.
