locking video tracks with multiple audio tracks

When working on the timeline with a video track and its associated audio track, by default they are locked together, so that editing one edits them both (unless you choose to 'ignore event grouping'). Is there a way of locking an additional audio track to them (eg sound from a separate recorder which has to remain in sync) so that it behaves in the same way? I am using Movie Studio 12.

That seems to work for 'events' but not for entire tracks.

Grouping and Locking -- different things -- are applied at at the event level.
Use the Selection Tool or Select All for more powerful options.

Depending on how good both machines are, and how long the "take" is ... that second track may not remain in sync despite being "locked" to the video. You may need to unlock and edit one of them to get them to remain synced.

Also, are you going to have *both* audio tracks "live" and playing at the same time? That may lead to an echo effect, or at least an unnatural sound. If the separate recorder has better sound, mute the audio from the camcorder and only use the secondary recorder for your sound.

You can also delete the camcorder audio track, but I keep it around because it is easier to keep the secondary recorder synced by matching the waveforms of the two tracks.

Or ... that "secondary recorder" may be additional audio to your production (if so forget most of the above)
