Locks up with quicktime clips

I have vegas video 2.0h and everytime I try to open a quicktime clip to a track it locks up vegas. I have windows XP professional. I have looked around for a patch, but found nothing. Please help.

Have you downloaded the newest version of the Quicktime player?

You don't need the pro version for use with Vegas, but you do need at least the newest version 5 of the free player in order to use Quicktime files with Vegas under Windows XP.
