long image sequence crashes V5

I have a scene that uses a sequence of 2100 images (png) output from Lightwave. Importing them into a project crashes V5. But, I can open V3; import the image sequence just fine; save the project; then open the same project in V5 without issue.

Anyone know a way to get V5 to import long image sequences without crashing?

Hmm...Crashes, or causes an error?
Click on first image in sequence, tic the "import image sequence dialog" box. This should set you up. If the images are different in physical size or aspect, it won't open the sequence. But if V3 is opening them, so should V5....

Nope. V5 locks up and eventually I get a generic MS "program not responding" error pop-up. The only application running at the time is V5.

Interestingly enough, I never get the chance to select the ""import image sequence dialog" box. I just click on the first filename (image000.png) in the folder and while Vegas is scanning the folder (I guess it's looking at each file in the folder), it crashes. I never get the chance to actually start the importing.

BTW - I'm running on XP Pro with 1gig of RAM, if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

Okay, I went back and tried again (fourth time) and this it worked perfectly!

Fingers crossed -- I guess I can continue on with my project and hope it behaves ;-)

Thanks again for the reply...

If you haven't already done so, please make sure you have updated to Vegas 5.0b.

Thanks. I updated to 5.0b as soon as it was released.
