Long Refresh Time

Suspicious_Link wrote on 12/22/2017, 10:06 AM

Every time you go to a different window from Sony Vegas, then return to the program, it has to reload something (I think it's your video files). My guess is that this happens to save memory, but I'm dealing with hundreds of video files and it takes minutes to refresh even if I want to quickly Google something and then return immediately. Is there an option to disable this? Or to somehow prevent it?

I'm using Sony Vegas Pro Edit.

I'm running Windows 10 Home (64 bit) at 3.4 GHz with 16 GB RAM.

Vegas will release those files when you switch to another window, so switching back causes it to open the files again. You can set this preference to OFF so it doesn't happen. But you can't open the files in other programs when Vegas has them.

How do you turn if off?

Edit: Found it. Options - Preferences - General Preferences - Close media files when not the active application

Sorry, I wasn't clear but it looks like you found it.
