long render of still images to dv

i find that vf takes long to render still images to a dv file.. much longer that rendering my edited avi's to dv. WHY?

to experiment, i put 11 or 12 stills on the timeline, bmps, jpgs, & pngs, & set the time to 3.5 seconds each. it took about a minute to render that to avi. there must some settings i can change to speed up this render time.

thanks in advance.

It will take longer to render stills for several reasons. These are some of them.

1) It has to draw each frame of the still.
2) It has to draw them at the correct resolution and compression.
3) It has to convert from the various formats that you used.

Rendering is based on your processor speed. The faster the processor, the faster the rendering.
