Long Render Times

I am averaging 2.5 hours to render about 1hr and 20 mins worth of video in DVDA. I was just wondering if this was typical, or if there is anyway to speed it up. I am using the standard out of the box stuff. My setup is:

P4 2.6G Hyperthreaded
ASUS P4C 800 MOBO
1 GIG PC400 DDR
200 GIG 7200 HD
80 GIG 7200 HD

I render from one drive to the next, it never uses more than 50 percent of my processor, and I was just wondering if anybodys setup is faster or if I am doing something wrong. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Much of rendering time depends on how many effects/processes you have in the project. 1.5 hours of video would typically take 8 - 12 hours for me and typically 30 minutes for the audio.

I generally do my rendering over night.
