I am a new vv user. I recently imported an avi file that I wanted to print to tape.
I had created the file in After Effects. The video was originally a pal tape that I converted to ntsc dv in AE. I created a new vv project, imported the file and placed it on the timeline. Then I selected print to tape. A message told me over 80% of the video had to be pre-rendered. The video has no effects - just straight audio and video but took 45 minutes to render a 20 minute video.
Why does it need to render an imported avi file?
Why does it take so long?
Any help would be appreciated.
My system: (I know it is a little old and slower than most current pc's)
Windows 2000 Pro
Dual P-III x 500
512 megs ram
100 gig udma hd
Ultra 66 Controller
