Long Rendering Time

I'm new to Vegas Movie Studio Plat. I just did a X-mas video of about 45 minutes long. I rendered to DVD. I used the best setting. I took the CPU 2 1/2 hrs to render then another 1 hour to burn to DVD. I had one title and no other transitions. My source material was on DV tape. Is this normal times?
CPU P4 1.8 GHZ; 768mb ram. Windows XP Pro SP2, used another hard drive to render to.; Vegas 7.0a Build 52

Sounds very reasonable to me. I have a 3.0GHz Prescott with hyperthreading and my render time would probably be a little under an hour. Your processor is about 1/3 as fast as mine.

Looks like my IOLO stand alone DVD recorder will be getting more work.

In my experience the best setting adds significantly to the render times.
Did you render to avi in movie studio then let dvd architect render to mpeg?
That will add an additional render.

Last night I switched my Vegas program to 3.2 GHZ Creation Station. with 2gb of ram. What a Difference. Looks like a video of 30 minutes took 41 minutes to render, with effects and crossfades. I would recommend anyone buying this program (V7) to consider getting a powerful computer, plenty of ram and a seperate drive for processing and a good sound card.
