Looking For A Good HD Monitor Under 500USD

I am looking for a good 1920x1080 monitor that I could use for editing HD (and preview) or 2 monitors that will do the same.

I have bought the Westinghouse 26" monitor I linked to a while back but the first one came broken (screen would blink on and off) and the second came with a cracked screen and blinking on and off. So, I want to go with something else. Any recommendations under $500?

Are you saying the Westinghouse monitors weren't shipping damaged?

I don't know if they were or not. Can't say. I just know that I have been through 2 of them and it has taken two weeks thus far and I am still without a monitor. They may very well have been shipping damage but I am a little gun shy.

I have 2 Gateway FHD2400 Black-Silver 24" 3ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitors. Love them. Newegg for $480 + shipping.

The ViewSonics are worth a look.

Advantages: Very clear picture and color accuracy, and fast response time which is important for video.
Disadvantages: A little lower contrast ratio and smaller viewing angle than some screens.

They are far superior to the Olevia (Samsung OEM) I now own . . .

I can understand that. Now, what if you order a different brand and use the same carrier? If it too arrives broken, you'll really know :O)

I bought my two Westinghouse 24" screens from Newegg. Both arrived properly packaged via UPS Ground I think, with no damage, and not so much as a pixel out of place.
