Looking for a non-tech how to book on all of this

I am not really understanding the tutorials and like Will Rogers said "everybody is ignorant...just on different subjects." Guess thats true in this case for me as I might as well be trying to learn to speak Martian Lingo. I have to get this down though and I am commited...I am even willing to pay someone to show me the basics if that service is available. Does anyone know of a book...dvd...or etc for an old cop trying to learn some new tricks?

While no video editor is "intuitively obvious" as they used to tell us in school, Steve's book is really quite good (see the previews on the page he references). Also check out his videos on the left side of the page. My only connection to Steve is through having purchased his books. One item that can be very confusing to folks new to video (or slide shows etc) is the concept of keyframes. Once you get your head around them, you will be more comfortable. Hang in there - it's worth the effort :-)
