Looking for advice on FX for VP10

Flash-Gordon wrote on 10/23/2025, 4:11 PM

I'm still using Vegas 10 and am currently putting together a video as a backdrop for my next performance of my band. This video will be playing on the big screen behind us and it will basically be me swimming in saltwater. The band is called Swim In Salt by the way. I want to add some effects but I'm looking at what I have in Video FX and there isn't much. I'm not sure what I am looking for but can anyone recommend an affordable video effects plugin I can purchase to make my video (s) cooler. Please help.

Wow, if you are still using Vegas 10, it can be difficult recommending any of the current line of plugins, because they may not be compatible with that older version of Vegas.... Which Windows Operating system are you using?

In the meantime, here is a post with an extensive list of free and paid plugins that are available for Vegas Pro:

The forum has a list of FX plugins for Vegas Pro - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/list-of-cool-or-useful-plugins--134893/ - but under the Commercial heading FX Home's Ignite Pro and VAAST Extensions are now no longer on the market.

Thinking back to Vegas Pro 10's era, there wasn't a whole lot of FX on the 3rd-party market offered for Vegas Pro 10 other than perhaps NewBlueFX plugins; however, you'd need to check Vegas Pro version compatibility on the plugin's website for any plugin that you're interested in - and use the trial version where available before purchasing.
