To render files for SVCD you only need to render as mpeg-2. VV can do this already but you need to use the right template.

Also SVCD needs to be authored, I use Nero 5.xxx for this, give the Nero mpeg-2 encoder a miss, it sucks.

Best results I get are using TMPGEnc to encode; render out to avi from VV then encode that using TMPGEnc and tell Nero you're making a SVCD, drag the files in, setup your menus and burn.

There are other equally good mpeg-2 encoders, it just so happens that TMPGEnc is the one I've found works best for me and the price is reasonable. I paid them for it nealry two yeasr ago and I still get the updates for free plus it does a lot of other useful trick apart from encoding.
