Using Pricewatch.com I stumbled across an OEM version of the 250GB drive. The one in stores and mentioned on the Maxtor site is a 5400RPM drive. However, on Pricewatch, the OEM version is a genuine 7200RPM drive. I checked every way I could and found nothing about it on the MAXTOR site. Still, it seems to be the real thing, if what you want is a bare bones drive with standard Maxtor warranty. It is a few bucks higher than the retail 5400RPM model.

Anybody know anything about this?
