Looking for military plane footage

Hello all. I'm putting together a patriotic video to show at my church for Independence day. I would like to include just a few frames of dazzling footage of the Blue Angels or USAF Thunderbirds in the production. Does anyone here know where I could obtain some footage like this (other than going to an airshow and filming it; not an option for me at this point)?

Thanks in advance!

Somewhere I have some footage of the Thunderbirds and a B1 Bomber from last years Chicago Air Show (could have been two years ago?)

I have some footage of the Thunderbirds from "Aviation Nation" 2003 but I'm overseas for several weeks. How soon do you need it?

Hi there -

I shot all the Air Force TV commercials for eight years.
Unfortunately all of it was done in 35mm and it was too darn expensive to make prints and then xfer to videotape.

I still have thousands of feet of 35mm negative just waiting for someone to transfer to digital media, but it's still too expensive to make it worthwhile.

What I do have on digital media is about 15 seconds I shot over the Grand Canyon of some F14's (I think) - on one of the completed commercials that I did manage to save. The shots are of the planes, airborne and landing. Because they are USAF, they are public domain.

If you'd like them, write me and I'll try to mount them on a my website for you - I'm really busy, so don't expect overnight service.

I really appreciate everyone's response! Unfortunately, I don't have much time left, as our church's patriotic service is this Sunday, July 3rd. That's what I get for not doing a better job of pre-planning! I really need something within the next couple of days in order to get it finished.

I was in hopes that someone knew of a site that had this sort of footage available for download, some DVD that I could obtain that I could rip a few frames from, etc. BTW: I got a 'Page has been removed" from one a site mentioned called, "The Perlinger Archives". Does anyone have an updated link for that?

The section of the video I have in mind for this is going to be really very short, probably no more than 20-30 seconds of footage. I have an loopable film of a flag waving in the wind, which I intend to fade to almost transparent and overlay with some patriotic/military stills and clips. This is all synched to music, and there's a section where the song's dynamics really 'swell', and I can see in my mind's eye some military jets zooming overhead.

Once again, I appreciate everyone's help.

Hmmm. It works fine now. Even so, the URL is http://www.archive.org/details/movies.

Vic,
Have you considered donating your footage to Prelinger? They are looking for public domain footage for preservation and distribution.
