Looking for some Audio issue help, please.

Hello hello, i'm new to using Vegas Pro 14 so forgive me if this is an easy fix I can't figure out. I've loaded in my video and audio with no problems. The only problem arises when i'm watching through my video editing, the audio will randomly cut out for a few seconds at different points. All I have to do is rewind the part that cut out and play it again, that usually fixes it. Is it just the program loading it in? Will the final render have these random audio cuts in it? That's all i'm worried about. Any help is greatly appreciated!

What format files are loaded? Do you have a lot of audio (and/or video) plug-ins running? High CPU usage could cause this. How are your preview settings. If you mute the video tracks, does the audio still drop out. The render will probably be ok though.. try an audio only render, in the appropriate format. If that's ok, render What format files are loaded? Do you have a lot of audio (and/or video) plug-ins running? High CPU usage could cause this. How are your preview settings. If that's ok, render both and check it, or just render the video and mux the A/V files together.

Sorry its taken me so long to respond; I just have a video file (.mp4) and an audio file (.wav) in my session. My CPU usage isn't high. I don't have any plug ins running. My preview window is set to Best (auto). Sorry if there's any info I needed to add that I didn't, I'll try muting the vid track like ya said in the meantime. Thanks for responding

Incorrect sample rate of imported audio perhaps, 44.1kHz instead of the 48kHz normally used for video?

Just checked and it's at 48kHz

Lil' update, I had just changed my preview settings to Best (auto) when I made my comment. Since then the audio cutting out has still happened, but much less than what I previously was getting. The only real thing I've been worried about is the audio cutting out in the final product. Thank you both of you who helped me out!

Try matching the media settings properties in "File> Properties> Match media settings". In the audio tab, set the audio to 48kHz ... though Vegas normally plays back 44.1kHz audio files without issue.. even mixed sample rate and format events on the same track.
