not Quite sure what you mean
do you mean if you split a clip and put a vel envelope on the first section, then want to match up the second section to the same frame as the first left off?
If so, if you have the clip info displayed on the clips,
and you split a say 00:00:10:05 then use a vel env on the first speeding it up so that section is ending at say 16:04
I expand the track and then just trim the second clips left edge till the event display time in the clip itself reads 16:04 , then butt em up!
is that what your lokking for or am I way off?

Not sure if i'm following you exactly, but i think you mean that after you apply the envelope, the end frame in the event isn't the same anymore so you have to stretch the event out, but you don't know how far to stretch it. You're trying to end up with the same last frame as you had before applying the envelope so that the video flows seamlessly into the next event running at normal speed. Is this correct?

If so, don't split the clip to begin with. Apply the velocity envelope to the entire event. Keep it at 100% until you want to change the speed. Return it to 100% when you want normal speed to resume. The clip will play continguously and seamlessly without having to search for the proper end frame.
