Looped by the looped de loop..

Hello folks!!

I was happily doing some serious editing and am rather new to Vegas Pro.

What happened was I was using the "Selection" envelop tool and somehow established a 7 min. "Loop Region" and then got that chunk of video mixed in with a part down the timeline.
I can find no way to delete the effects of this loop region. I shortened it (the yellow triangle markers...) down then moved it to the end of the video. But from where it was first established there is now a permanent selected region to the end of the video. I cannot do normal selects to cut the bad loop out and rejoin the 2 good sections. I do have a split at the front end of the bad region but cannot split it at the other end to remove the junk section.

I do have a earlier save but also have some work done on this video in the front section. It's about 50 minutes long total.

Can anyone tell me how to split the timeline without using the trimmer? I am afraid of using the trimmer at this point I am still a rookie.

Thanks in advance!

Bill

Did you try hitting the "S" key where you wanted to split?

You can ignore the yellow loop region markers if you wish. Turn off the looping playback and they're pretty much non-existent. You can see them on the screen but they won't really do anything.

Press the S key to split. If you have an event selected and the cursor is on that event, then only that event is split. If you don't have anything selected then all tracks are split at the cursor position.

Hey thanks for tips!! I was so flustered and tired last night I missed the S split menu pick.
But all is well with my video again!!

Your responses were right on time!!

Thanks,
Bill
