looping audio

There is an ACDC song (whats next to the moon) which I would like to use. The first 8 measures are without lyrics and I managed to loop them succesfully without a break and keeping the tempo constant. How do I take JUST THAT SECTION and add it to the timeline. Well. ok I did that but it only plays that section..it doesnt loop. When I try to stretch it on the timeline it goes beyond my looped section and plays more of the song (which has lyrics). How do I stretch the looped section without lyrics.
thanks

If you're using an audio editing program:
Save the shortened version of the song under a different name, then put that clip on your timeline and stretch that out. It should then only loop the short version.

You could also Copy the section by CTRL+click on the clip & drag.

I would use the second method. But, if you want to use the first then you're already in an audio editing program. Use Vegas to render the trimmed section to a new .wav file, then use this new file in the project instead of the original.

If you need to make A LOT of copies of it and really want to fly, "Ctrl+C" copy the event, then place your cursor and start "Ctrl+V" 'ing to your hearts content. VMS will start placing copies of it in sequence on the track. You can easily place 30-50 copies of that thing on the timeline in about 10 seconds.
