looping event for freeze frame

I can't seem to create the looping of the last frame for a 'freeze' effect. I've turned off looping under switches per the guide, but when I stretch the right side of the event it just makes the entire event go into slow motion due to stretching across more time. The event is a trimmed one from a larger event and I'm wondering if I need to tell the program somehow that this is truly the end of the event and won't be extended. What am I missing? I'm using VF2.0. Thanks!

Down towards the midpoint they are discussing how to lock the end of a pan/scan...

If you have the ctrl key down when dragging the right edge of an event, you will time stretch that event. Without ctrl key down, it should hold on the last frame (or loop, depending on how the event switch is set)

Are you trying to freeze the last frame, or loop some action in the last frame?

There is a Frame Capture option, that you can then put on the time line and stretch as long as you want without looping.
