Lose 2nd audio track on YouTube

I just can't figure this out. I've posted a few videos on YouTube and never had this problem: I have video clip with talking over top of music in a couple of sections. When i render out as .avi or .wmv and play it back on my computer it sounds ok. When I upload it to YouTube the voice over track is gone, but you can hear the music level go down over the section where the talking should've been. I even tried rendering out the audio tracks as a separate .wav file, but it doesn't make a difference.

Any suggestions?

Youtube is mono. I'd bet you've got your VO in both channels but out of phase. When the two channels are mixed thhe voice cancels out. Use the mono mixdown switch in Vegas to check for this.

Thanks Bob. I couldn't find the mono mixdown switch, unless you meant to go into Switches and choose "combine", which caused me to lose the voice over again. But playing with Switches, I ended up choosing "Left Only" and that did the trick!

If Combine caused your VO to vanish then yes, the channels are out of phase. Selecting either one of them is the best fix.

The Downmix Output icon is in the mixer, next to the Dim Output. One should always use this to check a mix for these kinds of problems.
