Loss of audio sync on timeline playback.

Hi all;

I'm using Vegas Video 3 with a Canopus ADVC-100.
When I have a large project (2 hours, 4 video layers, a couple hundread edits) and I playback long stretches off the timeline, the audio drops out of sync with the video. It gets worse, the longer it plays. Stopping then restarting playback resync's the audio. This does not occur using the print to tape function. Original footage was off Sony DVCAM format thru a DSR30 I believe. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

hmmm-

what kind of sound card do you have?

I'm using an Edirol UA-5. It's an external USB device. That's probably the reason eh? Thanks so much for the response. I'll hook up the internal card and post the results.

Thanks again!

When you say "playback", do you mean "preview"? If you mean preview, then have you pre-rendered the project? If not, this may be your problem. If you meant "Playback" as having rendered it to a file and then playing in media player, then that could be audio driver related.

Thanks for the help everyone;

Using the internal sound card did the trick!
No more funny looks from clients during work sessions! :)

Thanks again.
