Lost Audio

This has only just happened on my current project. I have rendered my video and audio in the usual way to mpeg2 and AC3 and in the past have always found that the audio will follow the video file when I drag that file from the Explorer window to the large central "Menu" window in DVDA. For some reason this does not now happen and I'm stumped, especially as I can't drag the AC3 file separately into DVDA. Any ideas please?

I'm using Vegas Pro 12 Build 563 (haven't updated yet as I'm mid-project) and DVDA 6.

Thank you.

Richard

You probably already did this, but just in case: Make sure that the names of the two files (except for the extensions) are identical.

If the file names are the same and they are in the same folder I cannot explain why DVDA does not load the audio.

However, to manually load the AC3 file select the .mpg video file in the left media tree by double clicking it. Next on the right in the Media Properties panel you can select Track Media and then simply select "Replace" from the Audio drop down list. Select the required AC3 file from the explorer window. That should get you going for now.

Hope that helps

When this has happened to me (rare but it does happen), I delete the AC3 file and render it again.

Thanks so much guys. Where would we be without this forum?

I rendered the AC3 track again and then dragged that into the DVDA project which did the trick..

I'm now wondering whether it wasn.t finger trouble in naming the track---if it was, I would like to blame the heatwave (but it's over!), haste (always a danger) or my age (reluctant to use this as an excuse but there's no escaping the relentless passage of time!!!)

Anyway, very many thanks.
