Lost audio plugins - "unregistered"

I have a weird problem with audio effects in Vegas:

They appear in the effects chain labelled as "unregistered" - not with the effect name.

What is going on here? This is a clean install of Vegas on Win XP Pro SP2.

I solved this using http://paul.glagla.free.fr/filmerit_en.htm and allowing it to repair DirectX plugins. Culprit was DirectX filters installed by outdated Intervideo DVD playback software.

It was related to the other error (SonyDxGrovel)
