Lost Charger in Transit-Help?

Coming here to London my case was emptied and jumbled by the the security people ans the charger to my FX1 is gone. Any ideas where to loan one just for one charge or where to get one. I've searched for local dealers in East London to Southend where I am and can't find one.

I know Spot lost stuff on airlines any chance I can successfully claim from the Airline (Virgin)?

Two suggestions:

1) contact Grazie for his knowledge of photo dealers (even though he does favour Canon).
2) Look for a more generic charger. I have a AVP550 which is suited to Sony Li-ion batteries (and many others, according to the fine print on the case). I bought it to enable charging of batteries out of the camera. Another useful thing is that it enables charging from a 12v car connector. So if you can get one, generally useful.

Glad you got a result.

Just to put one concern to rest,
pretty well most electronics today will run from 110V or 240V 50 or 60Hz. That only applies to Electronics, not electrical thingies.
I haven't seen a batterry charger that wasn't dual voltage, certainly ALL Sony battery chargers that I've come across and that's most of them are dual voltage. This isn't the manufacturers being good to us, it's simply cheaper for them to have one part that does it all.

Serena: Thanks for the lead. I found a generic cam charger just like you described in Maplins - a UK electronic chain.

My batteries are charged, I've got the Vegas 7 trial on the laptop and I'm cooking. If Sydney was a little nearer I'd come and buy you a drink!

Michael, that my input was useful is adequate reward!

Michael, you can put in a claim with Virgin, but they'll likely point you off to TSA, who will smile, say "Sorry sir, fill out this form and we'll look for it. If it's not found w/in 30 days, we'll pay for it."
Then expect to NEVER hear from them again, even if you are a squeaky wheel.
then every six months, you'll get a letter from TSA asking you to fill out an on-line form about their performance. It's unfortunate that the on-line form doesn't allow you to provide feedback other than radio buttons. I'd love a comment box that allows me to say something about how bad they are at their jobs.

All that said, glad to hear you found a replacement!
