lost file/ work

I worked for several hours yesterday on a new project. I saved the work as I went , adding new material at times, deleting material at times. I had chopped up several video clips and rendered them seperately, bringing them into the new project from a seperate file that I had created the day before. For some odd reason I can't pull up the .vf file under the name I gave it. It shows up on the drive, but when I try to open it, it says it is an "unsupprted format". Any help on this one would save me a days work ....if I can salvage it.

Look for a file of the same name, except with the extension .vf.bak. This contains the same project at the point of the previous save. Change the .vf file to .vf.old and the .vf.bak file to .vf. See if you can open that. It won't have any of the work you did between the previous save and the last one, but it may contain enough to make it worthwhile.
