Lost Pre-sets and Plug-Ins

After a power cut my whole system crashed, which proved somewhat of a problem especially as XP (once we finally got it working again) acted as though it was the first time it had been used.

Among other things, this meant that when I opened Vegas (5d), all of the pre-sets I've created over the last couple of years were no-longer there, nor were the handful of plug-ins I've collected, either.

Now, the files are still in the Plug-In folder, but Vegas doesn't see them, nor can I work out how to make Vegas accept that they exist. I don't suppose anyone has any ideas how to fix this?

have u tried reinstalling vegas???
aslo XO has an auto system restore for when somethign major occurs or if there is a change to the registry... try tunning that..

also with presets, an idea i learn teh hard way was to to use the preset manager and backup EVERYTHING

I used to have custom presets which made magic bullet look like poo then i lost them all, lucky i still had my second machine with all teh settings in tact.. i used preset manager, and ported all my settings back...
