lost saved project

r.ron@cox.net wrote on 4/17/2012, 2:54 PM
While using vegas pro 10 I edited for several hours on an existing project saving along the way (approx. every 10 minutes) I saved one last time and shut the project down. The next day when I opened the project all the work done from the previous day was gone and I was right back where I started. The project showed it was saved
that nite but I cannot find the days work that is now missing. Please Help.

Did you have autosave enabled?

what's the size of the project file?

by default, vegas have the backup function active, so should be a file with the same name together with the project (project.veg let's say, and project.veg.bak)

the file size are the same?

create copy of both files to a "safe place" first

Is it possible that you actually saved the file to another directory or filename? Since you saved every 10 minutes, it sounds very unlikely that it would revert to a state that existed prior to your day of editing. I would suggest conducting a search for the file either by name or by date.

do a search of your computer... look for the following:

*.veg
*.veg.bak
*.restored.veg
*.autosave.veg

As suggested in Vegas Audio equiv post, try reloading via the Recently Used list on the File menu, in case you actually saved it somewhere 'different'.

have you turned off the moronic "hide suffixes" that Windows defaults to?
What do you see when you click on "File" "Open"

Has anyone clicked on the OP's name? He cross posted (copy and pasted) this same message in 5 different (unrelated) Vegas forums and has not responded to any of the responses.
I think that deserves a "kinda weird/just sayin'" thing.
