Loud Static

I just downloarded Vegas 18 onto my Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows 10 with Realtek speakers.  The audio is drowned out by a lot of static. I have this trouble with Vegas 17 also, one of the reasons I dpwnloaded 18. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. The sound on my laptop works fine until I open the Vegas program. Then I have to restart my computer to get the sound back to normal It happens every time, making the program unusable.

Is this behavior with all files.. or just MP3s? .. which is an occasional occurrence on some folk's PCs. If that is the case, search this forum for the MP3 screeching issue.

It was all files, but I believe the issue is resolved. I had to reset some computer settings. It was odd that only Vegas triggered it, but working now. Thanks for your help!

I'd suggest you create a Windows restore point now that you have it working. On my 2 month old HP laptop Windows is downloading an updated audio driver every few days or so that disables my entire audio playback
