Love DVDA2 - but can't burn

I *really* like this program - but I can't burn a DVD. I've tried it on two systems, one with a Sony DRU500 drive, and neither works. I had render the file and burn using Nero

When you say neither works, do you mean that the drive doesn't show up in the list of drives or it fails during the burn? If it fails during the burn, can you please provide the detailed error message(s)?

No, the drive shows up in the drop down list on either system, but I get an immediate error messag. I will later recreate the problem and send you the errorr message.
