Does this look familiar to anyone? What in tha world is this?

It usually happens when I am trying to Render .avi files to author DVD's. I don't render mpg's because I travel doing realtor videos. I use different apps for burning DVD's and most all will accept .avi's. (I let the app do the transcoding. this is better for my organization.) Also my clients like to receive a file that they can play or 'share'. A single .avi comes in handy when dealing with non-computer literate clients. At any rate I don't render to mpg2 or mv2/ac3 - I render to .avi

I have V5, 1024DDR, P4 - 2.4GHz, w/ virtual memory set high...then low...then medium. Any suggestions? Anyone else having this same problem?

(Note: this does not happen in PremierePro or AvidXpressPro.) -Maybe VEGAS isn't "PRO"?
