LOW MEMORY DURING COMPILE

Hey folks,

I was just doing the "make DVD" conversion of my first project, and the project aborted due to LOW MEMORY--advising me to close other applications.

consider:

1. i've made several VCD's of it to test on my TV with no problems;

2. i'm running 1Gb of ram on a P4 2.4Ghz machine; and

3. i don't have any other apps running.

I didn't come this far to be taken on any busride home!
Please help.

Thanks in advance,

D

How much RAM you have in your computer and how much is currently AVAILABLE are two diffent things. IF you're using XP bring up Task Manager (Ctrl/Alt/Delete) and see what's up when you get the message.

One quick way to refresh system resources (what Windows is REALLY complaining about) is save your project, then reboot. Itsn't Vegas, a nasty Windows thing because of how it works.

Yeah that's the line i was going down.

I'll give that a try and see what happens.

As always on this forum, thanks for the quick and helpful responses.

Do you have any screen savers (of ANY kind) set to run? I think that was my problem at one point at work. I'd leave my PC to render, and the screen saver would halt it.
