low sound

Someone shot a wedding video and for about 50% of the shoot the sound was fine then the other 50% the sound was very, very low. What steps can I talk to raise the sound level of the remaing video so that it can be ok. I just need to do it on the second half of the audio track. Thanks for your help in advance.

You can normalize, but you'll also raise the level of the noise. Noise reduction would be the ticket there.

If you don't have a noise reduction plug-in, you *might* be able to get away with using a noise gate after normalizing - this will replace all audio below a specified amplitude level with silence. This might be OK, depending on your circumstances, and what other audio tracks you happen to have playing to fill your newly-created gaps.
