I have been doing this for a while now and a light bulb went off. I know there has to be a way to automate this.
I do my lower thirds in layers (1. lower third back drop graphic strip, 2. lower third graphic such as an emblem, etc., 3. Text.) and would like to have a script of some sort that will allow for these lower thirds to be adjusted for DVD/BluRay and web.
On my web renders, I always move the logo/emblem over (the lower third backdrop graphic strip is already long enough) and I allow the text to fill the gap left for the safe area.
If I set it up for web first and then wanted to render for DVD, it would be nice to have a script that will affect the selected tracks by moving them within the safe area for graphics and the safe are for text (the text adjustment would be signaled by protype or a text media generator being used on that track).
I don't know if this will be useful for anyone else, but it would eliminate a few extra steps for me. Basically I just want a script that will adjust for safe areas as set up in Vegas.
