Lower Thirds

Hi,
Just purchased a lower thirds package from Studio 1 Productions and when I apply it to one of the video tracks, it "dulls" the original track that is playing. This is is when I turn down the level of the lower third track. If ithe level is up all the way, all you see is the lower third and a black background, How does one apply a lower third properly without the black background?

If you're using Vegas Studio 6 or 7, you can add the Chroma Key effect and choose the black background. This will remove the black and make it transparent.
