luminance transition

Hello,

From helpful tips learned recently on this forum, I've been having fun trying different still pictures in combination with the luminance transition to come up with some new wipes.

My question, is it possible to use a moving clip – instead of a still image – with the luminance transition? I've tried clicking the Use Video option, but it just goes to the default dissolve - can I "insert" my own clip somehow?

My ultimate goal here is to create some 3-D looking transitions, along the lines of shattering glass and whatnot.

Thanks,

I believe the plug-in-pac had a shattering glass plugin

http://www.debugmode.com/pluginpac/

It's really old, though.

Plug In Pack is old, but still has cleaner 3D than the 3D built into Vegas. Just not animatable at the parent / child level like Sony 3D.

I never liked Wax as much as the original plug-in pack but you can try it. Shatter FX works very well in Vegas.

Hi mtmiller

On level 2 place your in coming video
On level 3 now directly below that place your out going video just overlap the out and in like you would on a normal transition
On level 1 place your video clip your transition directly above so that it lines up with the end and start of the 2 video clips add luminance
Click cut in your compositing mode animate using low in and high in
I think that’s what you were asking
