I use Vegas 5.0 to edit video (and sound) and I'm thinking about upgrading my sound system to the M-Audio LX4 5.1 Surround System. My question is how are these speakers connected to the PC? Which sound card would be required?
I can tell you that in order to connect from the 3.5mm stereo mini male plugs found on most sound cards to the mono 1/4" phone input these speakers require that you should get these cables.
I just picked up these speakers and cables and they work great. I happen to be using a Terratec DMX / 6 Fire card.
Here's a thread from the Video forum regarding connecting up these speakers. Be sure to read the two replies under that message because he went through a lot of trouble which I luckily avoided from reading the next reply and getting the above linked all-in-one cables.
The M-Audio Delta 410 has been discontinued (the PCI version, not the Firewire410) so it's going really, really cheap.
Look at some webstores and you'll see them as low as $113US.
Mario, the M-Audio Delta 410 for $113 appears not to have the large ganglia of cabling coming out of the back panel. The lowest I've found for online, so far, has been $149.
