Yes, I get the frame rate on straight unedited files. But a simple Split and Push dissolve gets me . . er . . less than 1 frame a second? Is this correct?
Something isn't optimized properly in your computer. Project properties set to HDV? There is no 24p template for HDV in Vegas, as there is no reader for 24p HDV files at this time in Vegas (or most any other NLE)
Are you looking at the JVC footage? Or the V1U footage I uploaded?
That seems a little slow...project parameters set to HDV/1080 60i?
Preview set to Preview/Auto?
I'm getting full framerate at those settings on the same Canon footage you referenced. Those are all 60i clips, so far as I've seen.
haven't tried the Brightness FX, frankly, that's one that's never once been used on any project we do. I don't know how optimized that one is. Curves is a better means of achieving brightness, and it's very optimized.
Thanks Douglas. And NO I don't use brightness as an ongoing option : CC and CCurves for me. It was just the quickest to hand - nope I don't use it in my work either. You were just checking, huh?
Anyways now substituted Colour Curve; improved the look and still down around 10<>11 fps on the OVERLAP. The rest, the colour curves IS hitting 29.97 - it is the split with the overlap to the next 1080/60i that drops off. This is a split of the SAME footage but now overlapped. Same footage that has the Colour Curve FX.
Grazie, something I discovered today relating HDV m2t playback. I noticed that some of my footage would play back at 29.970 Good/Auto, even some with Best/Full to external monitor. Some clips would play back much less. It has to do with amount of movement in the video. Clips with flowers gently blowing in the wind play back full speed, while footage with lots of movement/panning drops the fps. So take that into consideration.
Also, my external preview with V7 preview window off is much faster than with V7 preview on or viewing on preview window only. Like I said, some of my clips play back to external only at 29.970 Best/Full. Best/Auto was slower???
Douglas? "Or the V1U footage I uploaded? Do you have a link, please?
Dave, yes, I figured this out by trial and error, and have come to rest on your advise. And no, I've yet to test for the movement - I'll look out for that one, thanks for the Heads!
